You are not the only one who has put this off

A lot of people walk through our door after eight, ten, even fifteen years away. Usually it was never about not caring. Something happened once that made the chair feel unsafe, and after that it was easier to keep putting it off. Then time passed, and the longer it went the harder it felt to explain.

Nobody here is going to make you explain. We are not going to lecture you about the years, and we are not going to react to what we see. We are going to get you comfortable, and then we are going to fix it.

“You can sleep through it” is the sentence that changes everything for most of our patients. It is a real option, and it is available for almost every treatment we provide.

Your comfort options

Comfort is not one setting. We match the level to you — to how you feel about being here, to what we are treating, and to your health history. You are always the one who chooses.

Numbing medication only

For patients who are comfortable being awake. The area is completely numb, you are fully alert, and you can drive yourself home afterward.

Nitrous oxide

Often called laughing gas. You breathe it through a small nosepiece, the edge comes off within a minute or two, and it clears just as quickly when we turn it off. Most patients drive themselves home.

Oral sedation

A prescription taken before your visit. You stay awake enough to respond, but relaxed, and most patients remember very little of the appointment. You will need someone to drive you.

IV sedation

Delivered through a small line in your arm and adjusted moment to moment. Most patients describe it as closing their eyes and opening them when it is finished. You will need someone to drive you.

General anesthesia

Fully asleep, monitored the entire time by a board-certified anesthesiologist here in our office. Used for full-mouth treatment, long visits, and patients whose health or anxiety calls for it.

Everything in one visit

Because we do implants, removals, restorative work and same-day teeth under one roof, sedation only has to happen once instead of across four separate appointments in four different offices.

This is the part most people do not expect from a dental practice. For our deeper levels of sedation, a board-certified physician anesthesiologist is present, managing your sedation and monitoring your heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and oxygen from the moment you settle in until you are fully awake.

That is also what allows us to treat patients other offices send away — people managing heart conditions, diabetes, blood thinners, prior transplants, or a long list of medications. Complicated health history is a reason to be treated here, not a reason to be turned down.

You do not have to be terrified to qualify. Sedation is a good fit if any of this sounds like you:

We talk first, before anything else
You tell us what you are worried about and what you want your mouth to be able to do again. We go over your health history and medications. Nothing gets treated at this visit unless you want it to.
We choose your comfort level together
We walk you through the options above, what each one feels like, what it means for driving, and what your health history suggests. You pick.
We tell you what to do the night before
Simple written instructions — when to stop eating, which medications to take, who is driving you, what to wear. Nothing complicated, and you can call us with any question.
Your visit
You get settled, we get you comfortable, and the treatment happens. Under the deeper levels, most patients experience it as a single blink.
Healing time and follow-up
You rest here until you are steady, your driver takes you home, and we call to check on you. You leave knowing exactly what to expect over the next few days and how to reach us.

Questions we hear most

Will I really not remember it?

With IV sedation and general anesthesia, most patients remember almost nothing between settling in and waking up. With nitrous or oral sedation, you may remember pieces, and they tend to feel distant rather than stressful.

Is it safe for me?

That is exactly the question to ask, and the answer depends on your health history — which is why we review it carefully before recommending anything. For deeper sedation, a board-certified anesthesiologist manages and monitors you throughout.

How much of my treatment can be done at once?

Often all of it. Because implants, removals, restorative work and same-day teeth are all handled in this building, we can plan around one sedation visit instead of several.

What does sedation add to my investment?

It depends on the level and the length of your visit. We give you the full number in writing before anything is scheduled, and some sedation is billable to medical insurance — we handle those claims in-house. You will never be surprised by a figure here.

Do I need a driver?

For nitrous or numbing medication alone, usually not. For oral sedation, IV sedation and general anesthesia, yes — someone needs to drive you home and stay with you for a few hours.
