Dental Implant and Family Dentistry Questions, Answered

These are the questions patients actually ask us, answered plainly by Dr. Justin Wright, DDS and our team in Corsicana, Texas. If yours is not here, call us and ask.

Getting Started and Scheduling

How do I schedule an appointment? What is the first step?

The easiest first step is a short phone visit with Shelley Osiecki, our Smile Transformation Coordinator. She answers your questions, goes over your health history, and gets you set with Dr. Wright. Call or text 903-602-3439, or call the office at 903-872-8422.

Where are you located?

We are at 1430 W. 2nd Ave in Corsicana, Texas.

What are your hours? Are you open on weekends?

Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Do you take walk-ins?

We would rather give you a set time than have you sit and wait. Call 903-872-8422 and we can usually find something soon.

I am in pain right now. Do you take dental emergencies?

Our phrase around here is: how soon can you get here? If you are hurting, we do our best to make sure the sun does not set on you facing a rough, sleepless night. Call 903-872-8422 and tell us what is going on.

I am driving or flying in from out of town. Do patients travel to you?

All the time. Patients drive and fly in from across the country to see Dr. Wright. Because everything is under one roof, we can plan your visits around your travel. Tell Shelley where you are coming from and she will build a schedule that works.

I have not been to a dentist in years and I am embarrassed.

Please do not carry that in here. We have seen it all and we have never once judged anybody for it. Most of our patients tell us they only wish they had come in sooner. You will be treated like family from the moment you walk in.

Investment and Financing

How much do dental implants cost? What is the price of All-on-4 or a full mouth of implants?

Every smile is different, so every treatment plan and every financial option is built around the individual. That is why we do not quote numbers sight unseen. Shelley, our Smile Transformation Coordinator, walks you through the customized treatment and financial options that fit your goals and your budget. Call or text her at 903-602-3439.

Can you give me a ballpark or a rough estimate?

We are not dodging the question. Giving you a number without knowing your bone, your health and what you actually want would be a guess, and a guess helps nobody. Shelley will give you real information on a short call instead.

What is the cheapest option for a full mouth?

There is no single lowest-investment answer, because the right option depends on your bone, your health and your goals. The option that asks the least up front is not always the one that lasts. Dr. Wright will show you every option that will actually work for you, and Shelley goes over the financial side.

Do you have payment plans or monthly financing?

We offer third-party financing, and applying does not affect your credit. What your monthly looks like depends on the plan you and Dr. Wright build together, so Shelley goes over it with you directly. She can also send you the financing links so you can see your options before you ever come in.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes. We accept HSA and FSA along with cash, card and third-party financing. Shelley can go over how to put those together when she schedules your visit.

Do you offer a cash discount, senior discount or veteran discount?

We do have a discount for patients paying cash, and Shelley goes over that when you schedule your visit with Dr. Wright. She will also make sure you know every option available to you.

Is the consultation free? What is the cost of the first visit?

Some visits are complimentary depending on the case type, and some carry a reservation fee. Our schedule books up fast and Dr. Wright is in demand year round. Shelley will tell you exactly which one applies to you before you come in, so there are no surprises.

How much does it cost to pull a tooth?

What you need depends on what Dr. Wright sees on your x-ray, so we do not quote tooth removal sight unseen. Send us your x-rays or come in and we will give you a real answer instead of a guess.

I cannot afford it. I am on a fixed income. Is there any help?

You are not the first person to feel that way, and a lot of our patients started right where you are. Our team works hard to make a new smile reachable for people who are committed to it, including third-party financing and some creative options. Shelley can walk you through what is actually possible for you.

Is it even worth it? Why is dental implant treatment so expensive?

What we hear most from patients after treatment is that they wish they had done it sooner. This is your health, your ability to eat, and how you feel walking into a room. We build the plan around what matters most to you, and Shelley can show you the options and where the flexibility is.

Insurance and Medicare

Do you take my insurance? Are you in network?

We accept all dental PPO plans, and we are one of very few dental practices that can successfully submit approved medically related claims to Blue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance. Text a picture of the front and back of your dental and medical cards to 903-602-3439 and our team will review them for you.

Do you take Medicare? Does Medicare cover dental implants or dentures?

Yes. We are in network with Medicare and Medicare certified for medically related dental reconstructive treatment, and we are one of very few practices able to handle those medical claims in house. Medicare applies to bone grafting, care for oncology patients, and full-arch denture and implant patients. There are still parts of the smile restoration process Medicare does not cover. Send us a picture of your Medicare card and our Medical Insurance Coordinator will review your benefits and tell you exactly what your plan covers.

What will my insurance cover? What is my out-of-pocket cost going to be?

Coverage depends on your specific plan, and we have an in-house Medical Insurance Coordinator whose whole job is getting the most out of it for you. In many medically related cases we have been able to help patients get a new smile for as little as their deductible. Send us a picture of the front and back of your cards and we will review your benefits.

I do not have insurance. Is it worth coming in?

No insurance is not an obstacle here. We have helped thousands of patients without coverage get the smile they have always wanted, through third-party financing and a real willingness to look for creative solutions.

Do you take Medicaid or CHIP?

We do not take Medicaid or CHIP. There are plenty of good providers who do, and we do not want you spending a trip finding that out. If you would still like to look at what is possible here, Shelley is glad to talk it through.

I am asking for my parent who is on Medicare.

That is a kind thing to do for them. We take great care of our older patients, and we are in network with Medicare for medically related dental reconstructive treatment. Send us a picture of their Medicare or insurance card and a little about what is going on, and our team will review their benefits.

Same-Day Treatment and Timeline

Can I get teeth the same day? Will I leave without teeth?

Very close to it, and no, you will not leave without teeth. We remove the broken and damaged teeth and any infection and place your implants while you sleep comfortably through treatment. You go home to rest, and you come back the next morning to have your custom healing teeth attached.

How long does the whole process take from start to finish?

Your healing teeth go on the morning after treatment. Your implants then integrate with your jaw bone for about six months. After that you come back for a prototype so you can confirm you love the look and the fit, and then your final zirconia teeth are made.

What if I do not like how they look? Can they be adjusted?

That is exactly why there is a prototype step. Before your final teeth are made, you come back and confirm you are one hundred percent happy with the look and the fit. We do not make finals until you are.

How many visits will this take?

Fewer than most places, because everything is under one roof: our own lab, our own 3D designing, printing and milling, and our own sedation. Dr. Wright maps out your exact visits at your evaluation so there are no surprises.

Can you do everything in one trip? I can only take off work once.

This is the reason people drive and fly in from all over to see us. With our own 3D printing and milling lab right here, we can handle just about everything in one day, occasionally two. Tell Shelley what your travel looks like and she will build the schedule around it.

How long is recovery? How long will I be out of work?

Most patients are surprised by how manageable the healing time is, and we send you home with everything you need and a number to reach us. How much time you take depends on your job and your body, and Dr. Wright will tell you exactly what to expect for your treatment.

What can I eat afterward? How long until I can eat normal food?

You start on softer foods while things heal, and we send you home with clear instructions so you are never guessing. Your healing teeth let you eat comfortably during that stretch, and once your final zirconia teeth are in, patients tell us they are eating things they gave up years ago.

Do you pull the teeth and place the implants on the same day?

We handle it all here in one visit. We remove the broken and damaged teeth and any infection and place your implants in the same treatment, while you sleep comfortably. You will not be sent somewhere else and back.

Bone Loss and Complex Cases

I was told I do not have enough bone for dental implants. I was told I am not a candidate.

We hear that from patients almost every week, and very often it is not the end of the road. Dr. Wright uses 3D prosthetically driven remote-anchorage implant treatment, which reaches solid bone in areas most practices cannot, and in many of those cases we can do it same-day and graft-free. Send us your x-rays and he is happy to take a look before you ever schedule.

Do you do zygomatic implants? Pterygoid implants? What if I have no bone in my upper jaw?

Yes. Dr. Wright places zygomatic, pterygoid, transsinus and transnasal implants, advanced remote anchorage that gives patients with severe bone loss a fixed solution. He has placed 10,000+ implants and completed 1,000+ full-mouth implant cases.

I have no teeth left at all. I have nothing to work with.

You are exactly who Dr. Wright built this practice for. Even patients told elsewhere there was nothing left to work with often have real options here, because of the remote anchorage techniques he uses. Send us your x-rays and he will tell you honestly what is possible before you ever schedule.

Do you do bone grafting? Will I need a graft?

We do bone grafting when it is genuinely needed, but Dr. Wright's remote anchorage techniques mean many patients who were told they needed extensive grafting do not. He will tell you straight which one applies to you.

What kind of bone graft material do you use? Can you use my own bone?

We work with a wide range of graft materials, and our favorite is your own bone whenever we can use it without making the treatment more involved. Dr. Wright will tell you exactly what he plans to use and why before anything happens.

How many implants do I need for a full arch? Is it really only four?

It depends on your bone and the plan Dr. Wright designs for you. Some arches take four, some take more. We design your new smile digitally before treatment ever starts, so you know the plan going in and there are no surprises.

Failed Work and Second Opinions

My implants failed. Can you fix another dentist's work?

Yes. Repairing failed and botched implant work is a big part of what Dr. Wright does. Remote anchorage, zygomatic and pterygoid implants and complex bone grafting give him options most offices simply do not have. Send us your x-rays and any records you have and he will take a look before you come in.

Can I get a second opinion? I already have a treatment plan from somewhere else.

We welcome second opinions. Patients who have been elsewhere and seen how they were treated end up being some of our best patients. Send us your x-rays from the other office and Dr. Wright is happy to give you his thoughts before you even schedule.

Do you take referrals from other dentists?

We do, and often. Other offices send us complex cases, patients who need everything done in one day under one roof, and situations where being able to pivot in the middle of treatment matters. Send the records over and Dr. Wright will take a look.

Do you guarantee your work? Is there a warranty on dental implants?

The hardware itself we stand behind one hundred percent, in the rare case an implant fails on its own and not from something the patient did. We have had one implant break out of many thousands placed, and that was over a decade ago. What nobody can guarantee is a human body. With perfect placement and the very best techniques, there is still no promise of how a person cares for them or how their body holds on to them. Our long-term success is something we take real pride in.

Your Options and Materials

What is the difference between All-on-4 and dentures? Which is better?

A traditional denture rests on your gums and comes out. All-on-X implant teeth are anchored into the bone and stay in. They look, feel and chew closest to natural teeth. Which one is right depends on your bone, your health and your goals, and that is exactly what Dr. Wright's evaluation is for. Just like no two smiles are the same, no two solutions are the same.

What are the final teeth made of? What is zirconia and how long does it last?

Your final teeth are zirconia, an incredibly strong, lightweight material that, with proper care and maintenance, will last a lifetime. Your healing set comes first and protects the implants while they integrate with your jaw bone for about six months.

Is zirconia the best material? Can zirconia break?

Zirconia is among the strongest materials we have, and done right it is beautiful. It is not the only good option though. Zirconia is very hard on the natural teeth it chews against and can wear them down, and rare allergies do happen. There are other excellent materials to work with, and Dr. Wright picks the one that fits your bite and protects what you still have.

Will they look fake? Will people be able to tell?

They should look like they were always yours. We design your smile from your own facial features and you see it before treatment starts. During your healing time you wear a beautiful set of healing teeth, and your final teeth are made from zirconia: strong, light and natural looking.

Are snap-in implant dentures a good option?

We can do them, but we usually offer patients something better. Taking a snap-in denture on and off puts stress on the implants and the attachments, and over time that can cause parts to break or implants to fail. Fixed implant teeth that stay in tend to hold up far better. Dr. Wright will tell you honestly what fits your situation.

My denture does not fit and it hurts when I eat.

You should not have to live like that. We make premium, digitally designed dentures in our own lab, and for a lot of patients implants end the movement problem for good. Dr. Wright will look at what you have and tell you the simplest thing that will actually fix it.

My denture broke. Can you repair it or do a reline?

Relines are simple and quick, soft or hard, and they can change how you feel about your smile in a single visit. A broken denture is a different story. Usually it is better to start fresh with our own 3D milling and printing than to patch it, and the new one looks far better, because we design every smile from a 3D scan of your own face.

I am missing one tooth. Do you do single implants?

Yes. For one to three missing teeth we can place single implants, and we also do implant bridges instead of traditional bridges, so we do not have to touch your healthy neighboring teeth. Dr. Wright will look at what is there and give you the simplest option that will last.

Do you do veneers, teeth whitening and smile makeovers?

Yes. We do veneers, whitening and full smile makeovers, and we design them digitally from your own facial features so you can see your new smile before we start. Shelley handles our cosmetic and smile transformation visits. Call or text her at 903-602-3439.

Do you do braces? Can you straighten my teeth without metal braces?

We do clear tray orthodontics, including Invisalign and other clear aligners, so you can straighten your teeth without metal braces. We do not place metal or ceramic braces in our office. Dr. Wright will look at your bite and tell you whether trays alone will get you where you want to be.

Do you do Botox for TMJ? My jaw hurts and I get headaches.

We do. We use Botox therapeutically for TMJ and facial pain, and for a lot of our patients it brings the headaches and migraines down with it. Dr. Wright will examine your jaw and tell you whether that is the right answer for what you are feeling.

What do you recommend? What is the best option for me?

That depends on your bone structure, your health and your goals, and that is exactly what Dr. Wright's evaluation is for. Just like no two people's smiles are the same, no two dental restoration solutions are the same. We have options to fit your needs and goals, and Dr. Wright will lay them out for you plainly.

Comfort and Sedation

Will it hurt? I am terrified of the dentist.

You are not alone in that, and we take it seriously. We offer several in-house sedation options so you can sleep comfortably through your treatment and wake up to your new smile. Our team knows dental fear is real, we explain every step, and we will hold your hand if you want us to.

Will I be put to sleep? Do you offer IV sedation?

Yes, and we offer every level right here in house: nitrous, oral sedation, moderate conscious IV sedation, and general anesthesia. Dr. Wright picks what is safest for you based on your health history and what needs to be done, and our team stays with you the entire time.

I am pregnant or breastfeeding. Is treatment safe?

We are glad to examine you. We do not do elective treatment during the first trimester. If something urgent comes up that truly cannot wait, we consult with your OB-GYN first, every single time. Come in for a look and Dr. Wright will tell you what is safe now and what should wait.

Oncology and Medically Complex Care

I have cancer and I am starting chemo or radiation. My oncologist sent me.

Yes, and please do not wait. We take referrals straight from oncologists and radiologists, and we strongly prefer to treat before radiation or chemo begins. Once a lot of radiation has been delivered around the jawbones, most providers will not treat a patient at all. Cancer patients move to the front of the line here and our whole team pushes to get your oral health ready fast, because cancer does not wait and neither do we.

Do you treat medically complex patients? I have diabetes, heart problems, or I am on blood thinners.

Yes, and it is one of the things we are known for. Dr. Wright treats medically complex patients regularly, including patients going through or recovering from cancer treatment. Send us your health history and medication list and he will review it personally before he ever recommends anything.

I smoke or vape. Does that affect dental implants?

It does matter, and Dr. Wright will be straight with you about it. Smoking affects how well the bone heals around implants. It does not automatically rule you out. Tell us about it at your evaluation and he will factor it into your plan.

Will dental implants set off a metal detector? Can I still have an MRI?

Dental implants are titanium, so they are not a problem at airport security and they do not keep you from having an MRI. If you have imaging scheduled, just let the imaging team know you have dental implants.

Family and Pediatric Dentistry

Are you a family dentist? Do you do checkups, cleanings, fillings and crowns?

We are a full family practice. Along with the implant and smile transformation work, we do checkups, cleanings, tooth-colored fillings, crowns and bridges for the whole family.

Do you see children? What age do you start?

We do, from happy visits sitting on Mom or Dad's lap all the way up into adulthood. On sedation we are careful: we do not sedate children under four, and we are very selective between five and eight. Littles are precious and fragile, and some cases are genuinely better done in a hospital setting. Dr. Wright will tell you honestly what is right for your child.

Do you do wisdom teeth removal and gum treatment?

We handle most of what a family needs right here: checkups, cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, tooth removal including wisdom teeth, clear tray orthodontics, Botox for TMJ and facial pain, and all of our implant work. For anything outside that, Dr. Wright will tell you straight and point you in the right direction.

About Just Wright Dental

How experienced is Dr. Wright? How many implants has he placed?

Dr. Wright has been practicing 18+ years and has placed 10,000+ implants and completed 1,000+ full-mouth implant cases. He personally oversees every treatment plan that leaves this office.

Do you make the teeth there, or send them to an outside lab?

We make them here. Everything is 3D Designed, Printed and Milled In-House, under the careful eye of our own team. That is why we can move as fast as we do, and why the fit and the look are controlled from start to finish.

Why should I choose you instead of somewhere else?

1,000+ five-star Google reviews, and not one of them is about being treated like a number. You get personalized care from a team that takes the time to know you, and our patients become part of our family. We use the latest digital technology, we design and show you your new smile before treatment, and our own lab means it is all under one roof.

Do you have before and after photos and reviews?

We do, and we would love to show you. We have 1,000+ five-star Google reviews and a gallery of real patient transformations.

Still have a question?

Ask it. Dr. Wright would rather answer it now than have you wonder. Send your x-rays and he will tell you honestly what is possible before you ever schedule.
