BOTOX AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
DURING THE NEXT 6-8 HOURS:
- DURING THE NEXT 6-8 HOURS:
- Keep head upright and avoid wearing hats; do not lie down or bend over for 6-8 hours after injection. (This includes no exercise such as yoga, pilates, swimming, running, etc.)
- Be assured that tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few hours after your treatment. Do not rub or manipulate the treated area after treatment. This may lead to diffusion of the toxin to adjacent areas and cause an undesired effect and possible disfiguration.
- A tiny bruise might occur at one of your injection points. It is okay to apply cover-up to the area until the bruise resolves. Bruising is more likely to occur if you regularly take medications that thin the blood.
- Cold compresses may be used 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off to reduce swelling 2-3x per day during the first 1-2 days if needed.
- You can cleanse, moisturize, and apply sunscreen and make-up as usual. When cleansing, avoid pressure and use gentle strokes away from the eyes.
- Please be aware that some, though very few patients, experience a mild headaches. You may take Tylenol or Motrin (if applicable) to help with this for pain relief.
WHEN WILL IT START WORKING & HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
